Get a Glow this Summer!! Tips from the Expert!

We asked our make up artist Louise Lerego what tips she can share with us to get the latest look this summer to help us Glow!

Is summer a good time to think about our make up and maybe make a few changes to our normal routine!

Summer has always been an exciting time to play with makeup, and I love to create skin that’s bronzed, glowy and sun-kissed with a pop of colour. Here are my tips to create gorgeous summer skin.

Should we still be using powder in the summer? i

I’ll  would set any powder bronzers and blushers to one side and move onto creams. I like skin to look fresh and natural in the summer months and lightweight, sheer and creamy products are 100% the best way to achieve this. The Urban Decay’s Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator is my foundation of choice as it makes the skin uniform but you still see your skin through it.

How can we make up for the lack of sun in the UK!!??

To imitate that sun-kissed look, I turn to Saie Beauty’s Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer. It blends like a dream and is packed with skin-loving ingredients like grapeseed oil and elderberry extract. Apply this where the sun hits the face - forehead, bridge of the nose, tops of cheeks to look naturally bronzed.

I love a little colour in my cheek but can I use blush as well as a bronzer?

Everyone looks better and more alive with blush. The Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes from Rare Beauty are absolutely lovely, melting into the skin and leaving a soft wash of colour. To mimic that “just got out of the sun” flush, apply over the cheekbones and lightly over the bridge of the nose.

OK - so natural lips or should be be bolder and go for a colour on the lips?

A great summer tip is to add a brighter pop of colour to the lips. The new Huda Beauty Lip Blushes do just this, but unlike other lip tints I’ve tried, they remain creamy whilst retaining that staying power. Coral Kiss is the one I’m reaching for the most.

If you have dry skin what would you recommend?

If you have dry skin, you can probably leave the powder at home, but for those with oily skins, the Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder is perfection. It never looks powdery but sets makeup and adds some life to the skin. Otherwise, spritz your face with a lightweight setting spray (the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray is chef’s kiss) and get outside to soak up that sun!

Thanks Lou.... amazing tips as always... lets hope the sun shines and we can all get a glow this summer!!
